We all worked-up a sweat – that was the goal – stay warm. Seems like the right mix of work for a cold Monday. We stayed out of the snow for the most part. We cleared spots in the Amp stage for our burpees and merkins, so, we stayed dry and that helped to stay warm. Great to see LaLloyd he pushed right through. Pac Rat and Optimus were solid, like always on Monday. Well, done boys – good start to 2022.
The Beatdown title – “The heat is in the moves” is a play off a local Union workers saying, especially the guys that work outside, “The heat is in the tools.” It’s a way of saying that it is warmer to get out of the bunker and go to work in the cold and working hard with the tools is key to beating the cold and staying warm. (The other tricks are dry gloves and socks … they often change them during the shift if the get wet). So, consider this, next time you skip a Beatdown because of the cold.
