14 PAX came out to The Hub A.O. to celebrate life! (and my 44th birthday)
PAX: The Mick, Rusty, Ditka, Crash, OCB, Groening, Fonzie, Lights Out!, Fat Tire, Al Gore, Mr. Incredible, PacRat, Editor
Q: Dr. Freud
It was muggy and hot this morning, but that’s just the way most of the PAX like it when they go to the club! I tried to play on the number 44 as we did our workout this morning.
WARM UP: (all x8 IC (four plus four (44) minus SSHs) – Bean Pickers, Good mornings, Hillbillys, SSHs (x23 IC-44 total and “one to grown on”)
-Light Pole lap with buttkickers, high knees, karaoke, and jogging, followed by a 44-second Al Gore squat hold
The THANG:
PAX grabbed their coupons and formed a circle completing 8IC Coupon Complexes, Curls, Skullcrushers, squats, and finished with 44 IC coupon chest presses.
Mosey to the hill with coupons to complete an 8 to 1 ladder, starting with 8 double squats (regular squat followed by a jump squat) at the bottom of the hill and 1 modified Turkish getup with their coupon at the top of the hill. Job back down to the bottom to complete 7 double squats, run to the top for 2 modified Turkish getups, etc.
After the ladder, we counted off to do 4 x 4 x 4 Station work. 4 PAX per group (two groups had five given our numbers) for 4 stations and 4 rotations through (though we only got through 2 ½ stations due to time). We ran from station to station. Here were the stations:
Station 1: 4IC coupon Sumo squats followed by 4IC coupon lunges
Station 2: 1 60 pound sandbag and 1 80 pound sandbag for PAX to complete 4 to 8 deadlifts with the 80 pound (PAX choice) and 4 to 8 cleans with the 60 pound sandbag. It looked like most PAX chose to do 8 reps!
Station 3: 4 IC “Booyah” Partner Merkins
Station 4: 4 Pullups followed by 4 hanging knee raises
MARY:
Mosey back to the flag to complete 12IC Freddie Mercurys
MOLESKIN: Thank all of you for allowing me to start off my bday the right way! I love being out in the gloom with each of you, and it made my day. Age really is just a number, and I thank all of you (huge shoutout to the Respect PAX) for making me realize that-it’s so incredible to see! It was awesome to have 14 out on a Thursday and 9 more PAX at the Griffith bball courts! Like most PAX, I always over plan for my Q. We only got through 2 ½ rotations of the stations, AND I had two more things for us to do. Oh well, next time! Honestly, the 8 to 1 ladder took more time than I expected and wore me out! I thought it was a tough, but fair, workout with everyone staying around the same pace (which always makes me happy). I can’t believe it’s coming up on 5 years since I have been a part of this group. Truly, y’all make NWI so much better for me. Thank you!
We prayed for Jan (Lights Out’s wife), Fonzie and Donna (his wife), and PAX dealing with injuries and family struggles. Forgive me if I missed anyone. Until next time!
