PAX: Federali, All In, OCB, Optimus, The Count, Coors
6 pax set the tone for 2024 with the Murph. Once we got going, we didn’t look back.

January Murphs are a great way to set your baseline fitness level for the year. By December, you really get a great idea of how much you’ve improved. If it ever gets “easy” or less challenging, go for the full Murph with a weight vest. Don’t be complacent. Always look to improve. Federali is a great example of that. He completed the Murph for the first time! He told me last month that he was going to get it done. When I suggested that he would have it in the next few months he said, “No. I’m finishing the damn thing next time!” That’s exactly what he did. All In is on leave for a little while longer, but refused to sleep in and miss this. I suggested that it has probably gotten easier for him to which he replied, “It’s easier because I don’t have someone screaming behind me to go faster.” That’s the military for you. Kotters to The Count! He’s stoked to be back and EH’d a guy to help keep himself accountable. I love the commitment! Optimus counted deliberately and got deep on each of his squats and merkins. He used to avoid the Murph, but he has chosen to embrace it. Nothing but grit and determination from him, as always. OCB makes it his goal to crush this workout. He noticed that we are getting faster and is excited for the day we end a few minutes early. Maybe we can get some extra PT in when that day (hopefully) happens. I was nursing a sore hip after my run yesterday. The squats honestly helped. Who knew PT could be the answer for a weird injury?
6 pax for the Murph is good, but I know we can do better. Get after it. Start this year off right and make some habits. Get into a groove and you won’t have as much of a problem posting and getting after it. Looking forward to seeing more of you soon!
