It was a beautiful summer morning and gorgeous sunrise, but the 15 PAX in attendance were even more stunning!
WARM UP: (all times 12 IC except SSHs) – Bean Pickers, SSHs (x24 IC), Apollo Ohnos, Toy Soldier, Arm Circles-small forward and back. Finished with jogging in a circle for a lap, followed by high knees for a circle lap and butt kickers for a circle lap, culminating with 12 perfect squats and 12 perfect merkins to wrap up the warm up.
The THANG:
A bucket of water balloons was in attendance just waiting for arbitrary numbers to be called depending on where PAX finished in each of the following:
1.Line up on Parking Lot lines. 1-10 squats and merkins. Start with 1 squat, run to line 1 and complete 1 merkin. Run back and complete 2 squats, run to line 2 and complete 2 merkins, etc. -All the way through 10 lines. Mosey to the bucket where 2 PAX selected their water balloons and targets.
2. Mosey to Sportsman’s club. 20 8-count picnic table step-ups IC, followed by 1-10 pinky pies (1 merkin, 1 dip, 2 merkins, 2 dips, etc.). 10-count to recover, followed by 8 step ups and 1-4 pinky pies and then sprint back to water balloon bucket. Again, 2 PAX got water balloons to throw at their chosen targets.
3. Pick a partner. DORA. Each partnership had to complete the following: 75 pylon rows (Campbells had a better name for them, but I can’t recall it right now.), 150 Scorpion Dry Docks, 200 LBCs. The timer was running from the light pole to the end of the parking lot lines. 4 PAX were then chosen to select their water balloons and targets.
4. Mosey to church. Hold a wall sit while we went around in a row with each PAX completing 3 burpees. When everyone finished, sprint back to the water balloon bucket for first come, first serve on the remaining water balloons.
MARY:
Sadly, there was no time. Though I have to say that the workout was timed perfectly as we got to the bucket at 44:58.
MOLESKIN: The water balloons were a bit cheeky, but I still thought they worked. I’m not sure who all got hit, but I know I was pelted twice. And while it hurt, I also embraced my inner child and enjoyed the cool water running down into my pants. Okay, I digress. It was a great turnout for a Thursday with 15 PAX and another 7 PAX in Griffith for bball. Everyone really brought their “A” game today. Glad to see Gatsby out when he’s home from college, and always good to have Ditka continue to show up. This group continues to improve and is really fast. Just when I think I’m getting a little better at running, days like today remind me that I’ve got a way to go since I finished 9th on the sprint back from the Sportsman’s Club. But I truly thank my bros for pushing me. Stellar job, everyone!
We prayed for Incredible’s son, Lights Out! family, Class Act’s job interviews (by the way, he got a new AP job!!!!, so answered prayer!!), Gatsby’s fiancé’s uncle, our F3 brother that was involved in the auto crash, and a couple other PAX (I sincerely apologize that I can’t remember right this moment). As always, God is good and He is faithful.
